14 June - Keurbos Nursery, Restanwold Farm, Elgin. Jessie Walton talk.

Jessie's nursery all snuggled down for winter.
This is the day I had a very blonde moment with my camera (probably a throwback from my peroxide era in the 1980's) - resulting in only two photo's of this visit.
But it was cold and we were inside watching slides and listening to Jessie, so there wasn't much I could photograph anyway!
Jessie, Garda, Lou and Maya all on their way up to
Restanwold Farm for our talk.

Jessie wears many hats and among may passions she is an avid bird lover / watcher.
The EGGC was treated to a very informative talk and slide show on her work with the Brown-backed Honeybird.  She is devoted to these tiny little birds. The time and patience she has to catalogue, by photographs, these little wonders of nature is quite infectious.

Please have a look at the very pretty website www.jessiewalton.com with audio for more information.
Her garden is a large natural garden designed for birds, with both indigenous and exotic sections as well as new acer and heritage rose beds. Jessie’s nursery has collections of unusual plants as well as bulbs, buchus, acers, azaleas, rhododendrons, heritage roses and more. Plant sales include vireya rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias & Japanese maples.

Thank you Jessie, you are a Wonder Woman!
